Medical Bias – right or wrong, may be controversial to even ask this question. There is some thing wrong with choosing patients for treatment as per doctors preference. It is something very unusual for most of the common people, they may not even know that law permit doctor to choose there patient.
Yes the same law may not be applicable to emergency and all areas of medical practice but in most of the private systems it is applicable directly or indirectly. Most painful place to see this is where the right to choose patient is not applicable, there if you look from inside the transparency is lacking while choosing the patient for particular level of patient care.
Even though it may be hurting to those who practice it but there has to be transparency in system which has limited resource just because some one with so called links and influence on the system getting preference over others, is at least for me looks unusually shameful as a human ( at least I am not claiming I am 100% prefect but I try to give my best to practice the same).
At the end of the day are we fulfilling the oath we took at the starting of our profession! YES the same old “Hippocratic oath” or the modified modern version of the same.
Just heart felt emotion for a patient who is helpless in front of this nontransparent illogically created professional MONSTER, and waiting for more transparent and logically & ethically built system.
